South Lyon, Michigan Speed Traps

This one mile stretch of road is marked by several signs at 25 MPH. However, if you just let your automatic transmission shift for you you’ll be comfortable at 35 before long. The cops sit in hiding places behind mounds of land and will give you a ticket at any time. I got a speeding ticket for speeding at 35 MPH on a Sunday morning at 9 a.m. I was the only car around! This trap is nasty because the stretch of road really encourages you to drive at least 30 MPH. It’s hard to stay under the speed limit.

Cops will hide in the Centenial Elementary school parking lot. Tough to see so use your Passport/Escort radar detector (never drive anywhere without it)
