Sterling Heights, Michigan Speed Traps

Bar hours. Heavy enforcment with current construction(lower speedlimit). Sits parked on median(no street light in this strip) 16 mile at Freedom Hill.

A unmarked police cars sits south bound side of mound across from the Mound Deli(if there was a 19 1/2). Also on north bound Mound at Goff(just before the Mound Deli).

The police are sitting in the driveway next to the railroad crossing waiting for speeders. With the heavier traffic on 18 1/2 Mile Road due to the opening of the round-about at VanDyke, they are very busy. People tend to speed here since there are no traffic stops between Mound and VanDyke. Be careful.

They park on the west side of VanDyke in the Discount Tire parking lot or on 18 Mile road out of view and wait for you to roll a Red / Yellow light. I’ve been nailed twice at here.

They park on between NB and SB VanDyke. One car parks in the parking lot on the SE corner of 18 Mile and VanDyke and watch for people rolling yellow / red lights.They then radio ahead to the parked cars. Sometimes there’s up to 5 cars.
