Suttons Bay, Michigan Speed Traps

Trap is located just south and in front of the Suttons Bay Schools. The speed zone chages from 55 to 25 without much warning as you are headed north. The shade from the Catholic Church and trees on the north edge of this trap is where the police usually hid to zap those heade north. For those going south they often sit in the high school parking lot which is also well hidden by trees. They most often are there from 7:00 to 9:00 A.M and then from about 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.. But I have seen them there at all times even on Sunday mornings looking for people who might be later for church.

Members of Grand Traverse Band Police who patrol Indian reservation have been deputized by Leelanau County Sheriff to patrol anywhere in the county as a vigilante force. Most stops are on a 1/2 mile section of M-22 in front of my house where I observe 2-3 stops every night in the summer.
