speed limit goes from 40 in Shelby twp to 25 in Utica. (residential area) Utica police work that street alot do to schools close by – high pedestrian and car traffic. Be careful – go the speed limit
North Pointe Boulevard near Park ave Drive
Utica Police monitoring North Pointe blvd – which has heavy traffic overflow from M*59. Area has high commercial / residential. Utica police will use radar trailer, motorcyles, etc. Need to watch your speed
M – 53 to M-59 S exit Expressway near E bound M-59 Road
S exit from M-53 to M-59 West is a no turn on red light, officer sits at gas station to right several blocks away to watch for violators. Even early Sun Morning.
Canal Road
The trap is on canal road just east of van dyke, it is 25 when you enter utica from sterling heights, and the police will sit in an empty parking lane(except when residents are parked there) on the north side. Also a motorcycle cop will sit at the end of the driveways on weekends. Pull over a lot of people
Canal Road near Van Dyke Avenue
The 1/4 mile section of Canal Rd east of Van Dyke through Utica is posted at 25 MPH. The rest of Canal Rd east toward Schoenherr and Saal is posted at 35-40. Utica police hide in parked traffic on Canal Rd or on sidestreet. Got stopped going west toward Van Dyke. Didn’t slow down from the 35 MPH posted in Sterling Heights. Big mistake, $110 ticket…beware!
