This is a turnaround area on I-75 for the MSP. They sit there in an area after the trees and watch the Northbound as you come around a slight curve. Hard to see them due to trees and bang they have you.

When traveling north on M-30 at 55 mph,
once you pass the hospital the speed limit changes to 35 mph and the city police monitor that mile stretch religiously.

MM 209 features a turnaround that has been manned by a state cop now going on 15 years. The FREEP did a story on him that far back as he wrote more tickets than any cop in the state. At the time 5,000/yr. He nails people north then turns around and does it south. It used to be he never strayed much beyond mm’s 200-220. You now can get nailed anywhere between mm 190-230. And the county mounties finally figured it out a few years back and they are now in on it. Finally, the state and county guys do a sting every so often using the rest stop at north I-75 mm 211. I passed them one time and counted 7 cars lined up behind a large movable sign erected just to hide them while another “spotter” was down the road apiece.

Sheriff’s deputy in Median both N/B and S/B I-75 xway. S/B side is downhill so you pick up kenetic energy.

Ogemaw County Sheriff, West Branch City Police and Michigan State Police all patrol a 1 mile road through City of West Branch, Speed Limit 30 mph. You will be stopped even if not speeding for something like "weaving".
