150th Street near County Road 5 Street
Traveling east on 150th street toward Country Rd 5, there is a small stretch of the road shortly before you come to the light at 5 where the speed limit, inexplicabily, drops from 40mph down to 30mph. Nothing changes about the street, there are houses and townhomes all along it on both sides and sidewalks. Police cars sit along the side of the street or in the Frontier parking lot and ticket drivers who don’t drop it down to 30 quick enough or at all. If you are new to that street you are an easy target because the drop in speed isn’t logical, if you miss the sign you’re in trouble.
Cliff Road near Interstate 35W
Traveling West on Cliff road towards 35W, the speed limit is 50mph, then changes to 30mph at the right-hand curve in the road. The police park a large SUV on the median where the train tracks are and pull everyone over that is going faster than 30mph. They have 5-10 vehicles pulled over at a time. Very organized.
