Hyde Avenue near Homestead Avenue

Cottage Grove, MinnesotaDec 20, 20060 Comments

Early afternoons (2-3pm) when the 4 nearby schools are getting out, officers will either set up shop in an officer’s home driveway, or just use moving radar to catch people (Especially high schoolers) coming down the hill from 80th Street. This is a residential street, but the students make it out to be the autobon. This is a speed trap aimed primarilly at the high schoolers.

80th Street near Fire Station 2

Cottage Grove, MinnesotaDec 20, 20060 Comments

Officers sit in the Fire Station Parking Lot. If they are alone, they often sit facing West catching west bound traffic on Radar. (Speed Limit 35). If they are doing some group enforcement, often chase cars will sit just west of the fire station (Using lasar to the east)in the church parking lot across the street. Watch out especially around 2:00pm when the high school is getting out. Sometimes they sit further down by Ivystone Ave and the chase cars are at Ivystone Court catching West Bound Traffic.

80th Street near Isleton Avenue

Often a squad will be sitting on Isleton using the laser to catch people west bound as the come down the hill from Innsdale. Speed limit is 35, and from the amount of times I see the cops with people pulled over, they should know better.

US Highway 61 near County Trunk 19

Cottage Grove, MinnesotaDec 20, 20060 Comments

The officers sit Southbound in the abandoned dirt road just South of Keats/County 19. You will not see them until its too late just because of the layout of the land. They usually use laser. Often, at the next street they have several "chase" cars. Speed Limit is 65, will stop and tag at 70. Mostly Local officers, sometimes with Washington County Sheriff.

Hadley Avenue near 95th Street

Cottage Grove, MinnesotaDec 20, 20060 Comments

The speed limit on hadley between 100th Street and 90th Street has just changed from 40 to 30 due to new home construction. Officers will sit in the ditch on Hadley just north of 90th (Facing north, waiting for southbound) to speed up before reaching 100th street. There are not many street lights, if any on Hadley, not making it easy at all to see them before you are right on them.
