Cuyuna, Minnesota Speed Traps

Local law enforcement either sits in the Cuyuna Fire Dept driveway to catch north bound travelers or sits just off CR 31 on Main St. Limit is 30 and many people fly thru this small town on the way to/from their northern Minnesota cabins.

The Cuyuna Police Department enforces speeders at all times of the day. They our for the most part very fair. The City of Cuyuna (County Road 31 was used as a detour for the reconstruction of Highway 6 to Emily) So tourists would travel through Cuyuna using County Road 31 instead of going through Crosby to Highway 6. They still use this detour becuase they found out that its closer. They come through the City of Cuyuna at highway speeds and its a 30 mph zone, and kids play in the area frequently. However I know a lot of people that have been stopped and they say they either have gotton a break or have deserved the citation and were surprised they didn’t get slapped harder.
