Fergus Falls, Minnesota Speed Traps
North city limits
City police setting on side of roads after dark with no lights
County Hwy. 1 from Otter Tail Lake to Fergus Falls
Otter Tail County Sheriff deputies work this strech of road exclusively for North Dakota license plates – When they see one in their bionculars on goes the radar gun and thus the ticket. I know this first hand as I have sat in the car with them and watched them give tickets only to North Dakota folks going 3-5mph over the limit for 3 years. I have decided not to persue this type of job as this should not be what is it all about. Be careful and use another route – State Hwy. 210 then come in on the county roads slow. ND Plates are the give away – not the speed .
Interstate 94
A few months ago, where I-94 goes past the four Fergus Falls exits and the land there is kind of hilly, there is a state patrol officer who likes to wait with his lights out in the median, and catch people coming over one of the hills. Not sure which one, but once you see a Fergus Falls exit (there are four of them) watch out on the other side of the hill until you get past Fergus Falls. The prevailing speed is in the 80’s and he caught me doing 83. It cost me more than $100. Outrageous. My attitude was good, and I totally deserved a warning.
