On Hwy. 73 between Hibbing and Floodwood

Floodwood, MinnesotaJul 24, 20110 Comments

Watch your speeds all along this Hwy. The officers are very fair but are on the move and NOT hiding and they can catch you going both ways. Slow down when you see any car far away on this mostly straight stretch of Hwy. Or better yet, keep it at the speed limit.

Hwy 2 just N of Floodwood

Floodwood Coty police are ALWAYS just outside of town on the north side looking for speeders in both directions on Hwy 2. The speed limit into town decreases very quickly, and well outside of where the town actually starts. The officers in this spot are just inside the speed change, and just outside the line where town starts. Very easy to be speeding here. Slow down coming into Floodwood from the North, especially around the bend in Hwy 2 when you first can see the town. For their part, the officers are very friendly and non-confrontational. They also can be found anywhere up to 5 to 10 miles north of town. I have never seen one south of town. Other than here, the Duluth-Grand Rapids route is usually free of police presence.
