Interstate 94 East & West bound

The troopers like to either sit on the ramps entering 94 high enough up so you won’t see them until it is too late. Usually on ramps between the weigh station and 494. Sometimes they like to hide by the bridges in the sun.

Hwy 36 Between I-694 & Hwy 5

State troopers prefer to set up large traps (between 5&10 troopers) in a valley between these two highways, where 2 cars clock oncoming traffic(one for each direction), and the rest administer tickets. This is normally done 3-4 times in the summer when speeds tend to be higher. The local Stillwater/Lake Elmo police prefer to sit under the highway 5 over pass and clock rush hour traffic entering stillwater. They sit in the median, using the bridge support for cover…very effective, as you won’t see them until it’s too late. I have seen them there in the mornings as often as every other morning.
