The area is very dimly lit at night. Obviously it is not an endangerment to the local public. The speed limit goes quickly from 45 to 30 and the surrounding area is not overly populated by homes, etc. It is definately how Madison Lake pays for an officer to sit there all day. The other surrounding towns have only a 45 mile an hour limit. Everyone gets the 39 in a 30. I wasn’t going that fast. It wasn’t open for debate either. It was a there you go.

Road leaves town – sign noting 45 MPH visible ahead. Got busted for 39 in a 30…with the 45 mph sign 10 feet from where I stopped. Received an administrative ticket – one that doesn’t go on your record because it’s a local cop writing the ticket not a highway patrol. Yea, need I say more.

Madison Lake cops are horrible! They usually sit right by the 45 speed limit sign where the speed limit turns from 55 to 45. Or they will usually hide by the Madison Lake Stone Sign. They are always busting people for speeding in Madison Lake.

Local police likes late nite-dark to 3-4 am.You will be pulled over for 1-2 over 30 mph speed limit. I run 60 thru Mn late nite anything above (north)(east) of Mankato on 60 in small towns has good police protection.
