Includes just outside and inside city limits (mostly on 10)

Everyone in my family except myself have been tagged in or near Motley for speeding–a few more than once! The city has one marked and one unmarked car police car. They generate a lot of revenue from drivers going just a few miles over the posted limit. Make sure you are slowing down when the signs warn you of reduced speeds. BE AT THE POSTED SPEED WHEN YOU REACH THE FIRST SIGN or else! They will hide along Hwy 10 but sometimes in plain sight–like sitting in the left turn lane with their blinker on (never intending to turn left-just to make a u-turn to nail a unsuspecting driver). This usually occurs near the first 30mph sign at the south end of town on Hwy 10. Posted speed limits on Hwy 10 reduce from 65mph, then 45mph to 30mph in about .75 mile.

Heading westbound on 10 from Staples, Minnesota the speed limit is 65. About a half mile out of Motley it drops to 45, and quickly to 30.
