The Newport police chief often writes into the local news paper saying that they are going to write a lot of citations because of increased traffic complaints on 4th Avenue to avoid the heavy traffic on Hwy 61. He is not kidding. Speed Limit is 30mph. A friend of mine got a citation for 36. Cars are white with a new style light bar that you can not see unless it is on, i have almost been caught myself a few times. They frequent between 7a-8a in the morning. The school zone is 20 mph and they will ticket for anything over. Road is very wide and it is easy to speed.
