Interstate 694 near State Highway 5

Oakdale, MinnesotaJul 20, 20060 Comments

There are frequent donut fund-raisers on the stretch of 694 between HWY 5 and HWY 36. There is a State Patrol HQ just off of Hwy 5, and this means it is easy to saturate the area with multiple squads and airplane support. Groups of speeding cars will be pulled over in groups, with all cars receiving citations (my wife got one). On a different occasion, I personally witnessed a saturation of squad cars on this stretch of 694 from many jurisdictions [Stillwater, Forest Lake, Oakdale, Woodbury, + State Troopers].

State Patrol in the median. Grass in the summer is high enough for good camouflage.

They sit in the parking lot of the new oakdale firestation, the one on Hadley ave sorta by hwy 36, where that tennis/golf dome is…the speed limit is 45 there, and really, most people go 35 there for osme reason, and it sucks cuz when your goin 45 and everyone else is going 35, to the cop, it looks like your speeding…ive never seen anyone pulled over around there, and i drive past it everyday, but just a heads a up

Helmo Road by Food and Fuel Gas Station

Oakdale, MinnesotaSep 01, 20000 Comments

Oakdale police officers like to sit down on Helmo Road where the speed limit is "30 MPH" and has "Radar enforced" signs all over it, even though the speed limit is very slow and should be at least 45. The cops will hide on all off the off streets a ways down so when you pass them your radar detector goes on after its too late. No visible signs of them show except sometimes when they sit at the stop signs and you can slow down, then 2 minutes later they realize you pass and hit you with the K band radar.
