S. Oak Avenue near St. Mary’s parking lot
City officers are required to work extra speed enforcement details on all work days, which is an average of four days a month (Wed, Fri, Wed, Fri). In this area officers will stand on the sidewalk at the entrance of St. Mary’s church. One officer will operate a laser gun, another officer will flag in the speeding vehicle, and two-four other officers will be on standby to write the citation.
Mineral Springs Road near Forest Hill Cemetery
Police will park in the entrance of the Forest Hill Cemetery, across the street from Darts Park. They usually face NE to clock people as they decend down the hill towards the center of town.
North Cedar Avenue near NW/NE 21st Street
2 Officers sit on 21st street NE aiming usually south on Cedar Ave. As this is a very hilly street, it’s very easy to go faster than posted speeds. Have watched them ticket several cars in a row as one officer uses the laser and the other flags down the motorists.
Bridge Street near North of Fleet Farm
One to several police cars will be waiting for cars coming over the hill on Bridge Street across from Fleet Farm. They sit in the old Budget Mart parking lot. This is usually in the early morning hours when people are heading to work.

City cops sit on the west side of the interstate bridge getting people as they clear the bridge. The speed limit is 30,and they will right you up for going 35!
