Louisiana Ave and Gorham Ave, top of hill

Saint Louis Park, MinnesotaApr 24, 20170 Comments

Patrol cars routinely sit on the dirt median on the right at the top of the hill on the northbound side of Louisiana just after the roundabouts and Park Tavern, where Gorham Ave is. There is a slight curve, so u cant see them until you’re right up near them. The speed limit is 30, which is low considering its a large 2 lane road on both sides. Flow of traffic almost always around 40 anyway. I have driven this road everyday to and from work for 3 yrs. Seen people get pulled all the time. They got me early one Tuesday morning when i was running late to work. I also frequently listen to my Police scanner at home when im off, hear traffic stops at or very near that location all the time.

State Highway 7 near Minnetonka Boulevard

Saint Louis Park, MinnesotaFeb 28, 20080 Comments

As you enter SLP coming from the Uptown area you will hit the area where Lake street turns in to Minnetonka Blvd. and Hwy. 7. There is usually a squad car in the area with a radar on, either in the Super America parking lot or on the median of Hwy 7. There is more enforcement in this area during the evening hours. Be careful the squads are usually hard to see until it already to late.

Louisiana Avenue near US Highway 7

Saint Louis Park, MinnesotaDec 10, 20070 Comments

A section of Louisiana between Minnetonka Boulevard and State Hwy 7 is enforced routinely. This road is a main throughway into and outof Saint Louis Park. Although the posted speed limit of 30 mph is adequate in the residential sector of the road (near Minnetonka Boulevard)it is completely unrealistic in the section near Hwy 7 where there are many commercial establishments. This area could easily be 40 mph with no problems. Cops will sit in the turnaround of Oak Hill park waiting to pounce.
