Saint Paul, Minnesota Speed Traps
Police sit facing Eastbound on Simon Avenue at Dale Street. They are monitoring traffic going southbound on Dale. Mid-day, usually between 1:30 and 3:30 pm. Sometimes seen on Jessamine, one block north of Simon. Pretty aggressive. Always seem to get their man.
The cops will sit in the grass on nearly every on/off ramp from White Bear Ave. to 694. I see them all the time during the day and mostly in the summer.
St. Paul police park under the Lake St/Marshall St. Bridge on East River Rd. Coming down the hill, it is very difficult to stay at or below the 25 MPH speed limit, especially with tailgaters who refuse to drive 25.
Northbound Cretin Avenue near the College of St. Thomas often has radar traps north of the football field. Traffic moves at least 5 mph above the posted speed limit, often 10 mph.
Motorcycle cops spend a lot of time in this area, This is a 4 lane road with high traffic volume. They are on you before you know it. Average speed is about 35-40 but most traffic is over 40.
