Going westbound on isolated Water Street from Downtown, there was a plainclothes officer in a civilian car with a radar gun just past the marina near the Smith Avenue bridge. He radioed ahead to more officers waiting about 500 yards down, who would walk out in the road and pull speeders over. It’s usually St Paul police getting cars just before the road becomes Lilydale Road in Dakota County. This reporter was ticketed for doing 50 mph in the 30 mph zone.

McKnight Road near Radatz Street

Police car is located one-half block south of four-way stop sign intersection. Police claim that this street’s posted speed limit is 30 mph. There is no posted speed sign between stop signs at intersection of Beam and McKnight and Radatz. However, two blocks south of this site posted speed is 40 mph.

On Maryland Ave just West of I-35E. Wide open divided road posted at 30 MPH. One sign. Often at all times of the day, Motorcycle cops will flag speeders over as they crest the hill.
