Hattiesburg, Mississippi Speed Traps
The Hattiesburg Police Department has stepped up rolling radar speed surveillance on Broadway Drive, all of Hardy Street, Hwy 98 West, 40th Avenue and Lincoln Rd.
HPD has acquired Laser Guns with the federal government stimulus funds, and they are using them! Beware of Laser! It is terrible. Every time I leave my driveway I am being hit by either radar or laser. Hardy Street west of Interstate 59 is patrolled constantly with rolling radar, as are the other streets I mentioned. I am not exaggerating one bit. It is though all of Hattiesburg has turned into one big speed trap! What an abuse of the motoring public by law enforcement.
Nice wide road with few turns. Speed limit is a ridiculously low 30 mph. Police sub-station located close to Hwy 98W. Motorcycle cops have lots of places to hide.
Hattiesburg is just full of crooked cops…watchout for coming into to Hattiesburg from Hwy 49 N to south in the 6-8 am time zones, they are all over the place and will get you at only 3-5 miles over limit…they are trying to get more monies for the city so beware they hiding behind everything and the motorcycle cops are the worst of all
Hattiesburg Country club Rd towards Jackson Rd. Hattiesburg police are just a bunch of crooks in uniform anyway, but they will wait at the stop sign at Country Club Estates and watch for you not coming to dead stop or coming from Jackson Rd… 30 Mile per hour limit which is totally absurd so be careful. 35 in a 30 they will pull you over
Going north on Broadway Drive where Highway 49 crosses over, cops are usually hiding behind the bridge. Usually motorcycle cops. The speed limit is 35.
