Lucedale, Mississippi Speed Traps
West Lucedale Hwy. 198
As you get off Hwy. 98 going toward West Lucedale. The 55 speed drops to 30 almost instantly. You are also going down a hill. Beware!
Mable St. behind the Middle School
City police will park in the back driveway of the middle school, one facing each way, to catch people coming either over the hill from the 4-way stop at Church St., or down the hill from Main St. You absolutely cannot see them until it is too late, due to the foliage planted by the City Works Dep’t. They WILL pull you over, and WILL write you a ticket, even if you’re only going 5mph over. And during school hours, the speed limit through here is only 15mph – very hard to maintain, coasting down a hill.
Beaver Dam Road near Railroad Crossing
On Beaver Dam Road between Northside Church and the library. It is especially bad during AM and PM rush hours. The speed limit is either 30 or 35. If you’re over 50 MPH, you will be stopped and cited.
