Old 90 / Orchard, before bayou cassotte

Pascagoula, MississippiJun 29, 20100 Comments

West of bayou cassotte on Old 90 / Orchard to Chiot St. Cops love to sit under the oak trees on north side. It’s only 25 mph and in a dead area of town. Road converts from 4 lane down to 2. Also, any where on the 4 lane Bayou Cassotte, also dead area of town, 45 MPH. It’s hard doing 45 on a 4 lane.

Bayou Cosette Pkwy

There is a ton of traffic from the businesses on that road and a motorcycle officer that sits there sometimes. Although the traffic coming to and from that location is like the Indy 500 at certain times, the motorcycle officer comes there during times of the day when the traffic isn’t bad and sits there and prey’s on people who drive more sensibly. There is way too much traffic for the available road ways. Either create more roads or quit writing tickets or ticket the ones who are driving over double the speed limit, not the ones driving with common sense.

U.S. Hwy. 90 Bridge, West and East bound

Pascagoula, MississippiApr 24, 20100 Comments

Be careful when you’re on the Hwy 90 bridge, east or westbound. Going east into town, as you crest the top of the bridge, you will often see PPD Motorcycle units at the bottom off to the right, before the intersection, clocking oncoming traffic Downhill. Speed limit changes to 45, but rarely is anyone doing close to that. Going westbound, the speed limit is 45 but it’s Not Posted on the Bridge. So, when you get to the top, and start heading down the other side, there is often a PPD unit after the Port Access overpass (in the median) clocking traffic there as well. The speed limit doesn’t change to 55 until After the overpass. Particularly at night, either direction, these guys are impossible to see until it’s too late. 65 on this stretch, for example, will set you back $185 plus court costs.

On North side of hwy 90/14th st. overpass

No matter if you come from Telephone Rd. or from Old Mobile Hwy, the police wait in the parking lot of the car lots. Speed limit is 30mph and coming off the overpass is hard since there is a yield for traffic coming under the overpass.
