Southaven, Mississippi Speed Traps

The cops hide in the bushes and jump out with the radar gun. If that’s not a trap I don’t know what is. The speed limit is 25 but most of the road is un posted so if you aren’t familiar with the area, you will be speeding.

Just South of State Line Rd. there is a neighborhood entrance where the police park their cars out of sight, get out, & clock the North-bound traffic on Horn Lake Rd. with handheld radar guns. There is a 10 mph limit drop (45 to 35) about 150 yards South of this location (@ the Southaven City Limit) with no warning sign. Alternatively, they sometimes set up in a church parking lot @ Horn Lake Rd. & Desoto Rd. where they watch the SB traffic that may be speeding up for the 45 mph zone entering the city of Horn Lake.

Police will also set up roadblocks at this location to check Licenses, Insurance, Tags and Inspection on vehicles, this is more frequently done during holidays where drinking and driving is a bigger issue. ALL ticket costs are outrageous!
