Foxboro Road near John Nowlin Elementary School

Blue Springs, MissouriDec 20, 20070 Comments

Right past John Nowlin and the Nantucket subdivision, there is a small cul-de-sac that cops are known to sit in. It’s at the bottom of a hill coming from either way, so you can’t see the cop until it’s too late to slow down. It’s also in a school zone, so the speed limit is 20 mph, but the hill makes it much easier to exceed that limit.

Woods Chapel Road near Liggett Road

Blue Springs, MissouriDec 11, 20071 Comments

If you are cutting through Lake Jacomo in the morning trying to get to 291 from 40 hwy: As you’re heading South on Woods Chapel (water on both sides of the road)… and you pass the Liggett Road light, the two lanes will merge into one. Many drivers (motor cycles especially) have a tendancy to want to race on green and/or pass on the right side. Normally, this results in both parties speeding up to see who will win – Bam! The Sheriff is waiting right past the curve where the lanes finally merge into one.

Woods Chapel Road near Clipper Drive

Blue Springs, MissouriMay 09, 20070 Comments

Several times each week, and especially on weekends (mostly evenings and at night), a Lake Tapawingo police officer sits at the south entrance to Lake Tapawingo (Clipper Drive) and shoots radar at south-bound traffic on Woods Chapel Road. The speed limit is only 35 mph and since the area he often shoots radar at is downhill, it’s very easy to exceed the posted speed limit.
