Edmundson, Missouri Speed Traps

This is a red light trap. Coming from the west, you will encounter this light on your way to the airport. Be careful because they have photo enforcement of the red light and will give you a ticket for even minor infractions. Edmundson is a dysfunctional town and makes much of their revenues off traffic scams.

Edmundson is notorious for its enforcement on Edmunson Rd near Natural Bridge. Typically sit in new business complex parking lot, on the road itself (at the bottom of the hill in *unmarked* cars) and on the church parking lot. Tickets for 21 in a 20 are common, and in addition to their one strip of highway 70 is their main source of revenue.

Speed Limit is 20 miles per hour "on their stretch of the road" which is less than half a mile. The Police Station is located off this road. Don’t even think of driving fast – 25 miles per hour is fast!

Edmundson is known for their traffic violation revenues. They pull citizens over for the least little violation. Since construction on Highway 70 has began, Edmundson police are radaring people for going over forty-five miles per hour in a construction zone at all hours of the late night and early morning. It is obvious there is no construction going on, but this is their way of giving expensive tickets to people who are in any normal police officer’s eyes, driving normal. Be careful. I travel this way daily and will see some poor soul pulled over almost every time.
