On 20th St. between Rangeline Rd. & Connecticut Ave.

Joplin, MissouriApr 08, 20100 Comments

There are two churches across the street from each other about half way between Rangeline Road and Connecticut Avenue on 20th Street. Joplin PD likes to radar from the East side of the church parking lots since there is plenty of cover behind which they can hide. They radar fairly frequently yet randomly. Traffic will slow down when approaching the churches and then speed back up when the coast is clear. If you get nailed in that area don’t say I didn’t warn you:)

On 20th St. between Shifferdecker & Maiden Lane

This is a four lane road in this area but the speed limit is only 35 mph. It is not residential and has very few businesses; mostly empty fields. It’s easy to go faster. The police like to park over at Redi Ice and pull people over. I was ticketed just over a year ago here.

coming east on 20th just past Beaver Express and Praix air.

The local police either park under the Interstate looking both ways or the sit at the shoulder south of the Interstate in front of the Harley dealer. Catch people traveling north into town and the speed limit is only 45.

71 North past I-44, speed drops from 70 mph to 55 mph with little warning. Multiple police sit in the median and are busy all day.
