Sikeston, Missouri Speed Traps
Plaza Drive near Kennedy Drive
This is a newly completed through street just opened. A city patrol/or unmarked car is there at least 5 nites a week also during daylight. Going north from Kennedy there is no problem. Going South from Salcedo rd which is in an open field you drop from 35mph to 25 at the Kidney&Rehab treatment center behind MO Delta Hosp and the SEMO Reagional center. The Police have been very busy ticketing people at this point. They either set at the Rehab center or in front of SEMO regional center 312 Plaza Dr. with lights off at night and with unmarked car in daytime.
Ingram Street near Smith Street
The area that is highly watched is from Smith Street to the rodeo grounds. The posted limit is 35 down from 45 just before the rodeo grounds. There are police cars in and around the Complex (a rather large park) at just about any time of the day or night. Another area is the area by the mall on Kingshighway they like to sit behind some evergreen trees at Kingsway Furniture just past the dead end past the curve at Hardee’s. I’ve gotten stopped at both areas and they are NOT forgiving at all. I have also seen many others stopped more at these areas than any others in this town. I avoid these areas whenever possible because of it.
