Springfield, Missouri Speed Traps
on Plainview Road between National and Campbell,
There is a Sheriff’s car on this street parked on side streets in various locations all during the week at various times during the day. Also, will be parked on school grounds on Sunday and on a small plot near Holland street which dead ends into Plainview. I have NEVER seen a city street patrolled this much.
Blaine Street near Glenstone Avenue
Just East of Glenstone Avenue on Blaine, Locals will sit in behind an abandoned white building and catch all unsuspecting east bound traffic as well as west bound before they know what hit them. Speed limit is 30 MPH and strictly enforced.
US Highway I-44 near US Highway US-65
On I-44 just west of the 65 interchange there is usually a highway patrol sitting in an emergency vehicle turnaround on Sunday mornings to catch people running late for church. I go this way to church and have seen him many times. The speed limit drops from 70 to 60 so be careful.
James River Expressway near Cambell Avenue
Springfield city cops like to sit under the overpasses on James River Freeway (Hwy 60) between the I-44 interchange and West Bypass. They hide behind the overpass pillars with radar. The speed limit is 60 mph. They nailed me while trying to speed around traffic to merge into the right lane to exit the highway.
Cox road FR 141 Road near Plainview and Cox Road
Sheriff’s Deputy sits at the bottom of a hill just south of the Cox Roda and Plainview Road intersection. Speed drops to 30 mph just as you start down the hill, and the radar is usually on you by the time you are on the bridge. The car sits behind a privacy fence in the parking lot at a neighborhood pool on the right at the bottom of the hill as you are travelling northbound.
