Wellsville, Missouri Speed Traps

A couple of 20 year old "cops". Stopping and ticketing everyone as they come into and leave town on the South end, apparently with the approval of the city council. I have passed thru this town 3 days a week for the past 7 years and gave business to their town many times a week. However, I am making it a point to NOT go thru their town for the next year. I have several choices for getting where I need to go without being harassed!

City police sit just inside the city limits around a curve hiding in a gravel parking area. They radar North bound Hwy.19 traffic as it approaches the city limits. The speed limit drops from 60 to 35 with no warning, and you can not see the police car hiding around the curve.

As you are entering Town from the south, the speed limit goes down to 35 mph just as you are entering a turn to the right. Once you make the turn, Wellsville police are sitting in a parking lot on the leFort This is a small town and I imagine a big source of their income.

East end of this 500 person town. Probably has the highest police force per capita in the US. Speed limit is 35 way past the town, totally unnecessary and definately not there for public safety.
