Kalispell, Montana Speed Traps
South of Kalispell Courthouse
Speed drops quickly to 25mph — city police regularly patrol this area where speed zones change quickly. Street is 2 lanes wide, so feels like traffic should move faster than 25 mph. Beware.
throughout the city Street near US Highway 93
The speed limits around all schools were just reduced to 15 mph for two blocks
on either side of the schools. The city is way short on money in their budget so
this is no doubt a revenue raiser. up to 1100.00 is the fine in a school zone. You
might make this believable around a grade school but the High School has got
the signs also.
Meridian Road near US Highway 93
Going south down the hill just off US 93 or going North towards Highway 93 just past US 2
Willow Glen Road
Many of the roads around are 25. Watch out in the whole area around it, most everything could probably be 35 as it is a two lane divided road. Kalispell has been know to use lots of unmarked cop cars so watch for anything with a spotlight or wnything parked by the ditch.
Flathead Valley Community College
The current description of this enforcement location contains errors. The speed limit increases to 55 mph a hundred feet or so north of the northern entrance to FVCC. As for the statement that it’s "nearly impossible [for northbound traffic] to stay at 45 mph" going down the hill, I have no trouble at all holding at 45 without braking. I would not classify this as a speed trap.
