I lived in North Platte for 10 years before moving in 1985 and the police force had radar in its cars then, now when I go to visit my kids my radar unit goes off on every police car that is marked or unmarked. I have a new escort unit and it is very good on detecting false readings. So when my unit goes off I look for any units near me and on almost every sighting I will spot the the radar gun.
Anywhere on I-80
All you need to know is that there is a state patrol office in NP, and they are all over the area 60 miles east & west of NP. You WILL get a ticket if you speed through this area.
Interstate 80 at mile marker 175
A Nebraska State Patrol trooper positions himself in the dark just west of North Platte. It is believed he has a radar detector-detector to locate receivers in commercial vehicles. The scale house at North Platte also have radar detector-detectors so turn yours off before entering he coup. Note: For our commercial drivers.
