Wood River, Nebraska Speed Traps

State Patrol hides behind the center support of the overpass in the median.
I travel I-80 extensively and would estimate that I see a State Patrolman at this location in the position described approximately 40% of the time. He is always pointed West radaring Eastbound traffic. I have NEVER seen one on the opposite side of the bridge support monitoring Westbound traffic.

Wood River has extended the 35MPH zone on Highway 30 beyond the city limits at Walnut street by as much as a mile. Enforcement is just before the 50MPH zone. Do not accelerate to that posted speed limit until speed limit sign is passed. Avoid Highway 30, Use I80 and bypass the small towns and take your business elsewhere.
