Carson City, Nevada Speed Traps
Roop Street near Post Office
Motorcycle cops sit about a 1/2 block down the small street next to the Post Office and nab people going the typical 35-40mph. There is a large concrete wall along the edge of the Post Office which completely hides them if you’re going South and a blind bend in the road when going North.
I just received a ticket in this trap the other day, and while I was sitting there waiting for my ticket another motorcycle cop pulled up and started talking to the one that pulled me over. The whole time I could hear them laughing and comparing notes on how many people they had already "got". I even heard one mention how they needed to pick it up because another officer was "beating" them. Like it was some sort of contest.

State Route 395 N
You cannot exceed speeds of 50 miles per hour. Even 1 mile over the speed limit will get you a $1000 dollar fine and possible jail time. The police will be out in the open and also known to hide and will catch you.
College Parkway near Nye Lane
Sherriff’s officers hide behind trees in the roadway median around blind curves. This road boarders an airport and concrete block walls behind residences with very limited access. It can be safely traveled at 45 MPH but has a 35 MPH in notoriously low speed limits Carson City.
Stewart Road near Crossing from side roads
The reservation police are awesome at turning their lights off and waiting for people to speed by the intersections of the off streets.
Arrowhead Drive near Interstate 395
The Carson City Police are frequently hidden in driveways waiting for unassuming motorists to violate the 25 MPH limit. This is a residential area but motorists frequently speed on Arrowhead from or to HWY 395 as there is a very large scope of business’s further East. BEWARE, I have seen the Carson City Police hidden somewhere along this stretch almost everyday over the last month..!
