Traveling either direction coming into Searchlight on Rt. 95, speed limit signs incrementally go from 65 to 25 MPH. Keep an eye out for the signage and do the speed limit. There isn’t much along that strip but a couple of gas stations, a small casino and McDonalds.

Highway 95 both sides of town

Speed drops from 75 to 65 to 45 to 35 to 25 in a mile or so stretch.
We were visiting from out of town and driving from Nevada to Arizona going through searchlight and got pulled over for speeding. We were told the limit had dropped to 65. About 200yds before getting pulled over some road work was being done in the median which was producing alot of dust blowing across our side of the highway. When we asked when the limit was lowered, the officer claimed the speed limit sign reducing the limit from 75 to 65 was right about where all the dust was being produced but still wrote us a ticket.
Definitely a speed trap.

US 95 approaching town from both directions

The whole town is a speedtrap! Speed limit drops in stages from 65 to 25 within a couple of hundred yards. DO NOT go above 25 when you are in town…Zero Tolerance. Approaching town from the south you see the police car parked at the side of the road with a dummy in it. Not fooled.

State Route 164 near State Route 95

Heading north from Rte 95 on Rte 164 the speed limit is 35 mph. About 1/2 north of the intersection a speed sign indicates 55 mph.The cops sit on Rte 164 facing south. If you speed up before reaching the 55 mph sign Bingo! It’s ticket time. To make matters worse the troopers call this desert area a "residential neighborhood." Bigger fine.
