South Bound 395 up Washoe hill

Washoe Valley, NevadaJan 31, 20110 Comments

Hiding on the right hand side of the road, half way up the hill out of pleasant Valley, at the wide spot near the four houses on the right. Knowing everyone speeds up, assuming he is hiding on the other side of the road, he gets you going over the 50 mph limit.

NHP will be on right side of the road on the backside of the left turn at the midpoint of the hill, or at the bottom of the hill as you enter Pleasant Valley. Speed limit is 50 and it is hard to keep it below 60 going down the hill.

Interstate 395 near Exit Number Bellvue

Washoe Valley, NevadaJun 07, 20070 Comments

In the shadows under the only bridge along I-395 in both directions, NHP is waiting for you! They hang out underneath the exit for the Bellvue exit, sometimes in the median, sometimes on the sides of the road. They nail both directions of travel although they tend to concentrate on N-bound traffic. Stay under 80 and you’re probably OK.

Interstate 395 near 10 Mile Straight Stretch Through Washoe Valley

Washoe Valley, NevadaJun 07, 20071 Comments

You’ve just entered the home stretch thru Washoe Valley, 10 miles of easy cruising. You see the large crosses on either side of I-395, then you look up and there is an airplane paralleling the strait path of the road, back and forth, back and forth. Sometimes the plane works in tandem with NHP who hide underneath the Bellvue exit bridge, sometimes the NHP seem to come from nowhere. Keep it under 80 when you see the planes. They tend to concentrate on N-bound traffic and only bring out the wings once a month or so.
