Merrimack, New Hampshire Speed Traps

A purposely carved inlet (unnatural) in the woods on the right hand side of route 3 southbound between exits 12 and 11 (closer to exit 11) that has even been paved just wide and deep enough for to accomodate 1 cruiser that even in winter cannot be seen until you are directly in front of the opening, which makes radar readings highly questionable at that 90 degree angle if they were even really used at all. The speed limit is 65 but should easily be 75.

(Route 3 – Everett Turnpike)

Heading South on the pike just before exit 11, there is an "authorized vehicle" turnoff just behind one of the smaller highway signs. Troopers love to hide there and nab people who are still gaining speed after the backup at the tolls. I mentioned this to a limo driver on the way to Logan and he knew the exact spot, as he had been nailed there!

Single Cruiser Sits in Dunkin DOnuts Parking lot, only at night. He may also Park in the shadows next to the Zyla’s store next door. Depending on whic cop is there, some are very lenient, while others just pick out the first person they see. Keep an eye out for a cruiser down in the strip-mall plaza across the street as well.

This is a 35 to 40 mph zone which you can eaisly do 80 on, but don’t. There are more cops here than any other part of Merrimack. There are traps all the time, so try to keep below 5 over the speed limit.

Heading north on DW highway just after the Bud plant the road curves right. That is the location the good ole boys like to sit & grab you.. The limit is 40-45 but it is easy to feel comfortible doing 50-55 which is what they get you for.. Watch other curved locations along this 4 lane section of town in that area
