Newfields, New Hampshire Speed Traps
Bald Hill Road near State Route RT 87
Speed limit is set at 25 MPH which is far below what other simular roads in the area are set at. They are always sitting in the fire pond parking area waiting for you to come down the hill in either direction. This is proubly the biggest money maker for the town police department.
State Route 85 near State Route 87
Cruiser sits about .25 miles toward Exeter from the Rt. 87 junction, at the bottom of a steep hill. Speed limit has just dropped to 30 which is very reasonable. A warning of impending reduction is in place but don’t ignore it.
State Route 108 near State Highway 85
On Rt 108 just north of the signalized intersection with Rt 85 the Newfields PD has almost permanently stationed a car in the NHDOT Maintainance Depot Driveway. Rt 108 just passes through a 1/4 corner of town but it must be the most heavily enforced section of road in the state. Evening hours after dark are the worst, when ever I go by I expect to see the Townie sitting there with his lights off. Half the time he’s already got someone pulled over.
State Route 85 near entering town from the South
There is a drop in the speed limit as you enter town from the south that occurs on a downgrade. You cannot expect to just coast to a lower speed without braking because they will be waiting for you.
