Peverly Hill Rd

The police sit in the parking lot of a church located between Greenleaf Ave and Middle Rd. The speed limit is 20 mph and its very easy to feel like doing 30 mph is the norm.

Lange Road

Portsmouth, New HampshireFeb 01, 20000 Comments

Portsmouth police cars tend to hide in a small dirt patch on the side of Lang Road on the Portsmouth/Rye town line on the weekend around noon. Coming from Route 1, you will most likely be stopped as there is little time to react. If coming from Rye towards Rt. 1, you’re done, because the officer usually has his gun pointed in your lane of traffic as you come over a tall hill. Portsmouth cops show little mercy to speeders, so watch out. P.S. I haven’t checked it out, but a Ports. cruiser is seen driving from Rt. 1 towards Rye on Lang Road at 7:30 am every day, so watch yourself.

Spauding Turnpike (Route 16)

From the tolls in Dover until Rochester you need to watch out for the state troopers. You will find them basically in 5 different ways:

1) At the toll-boths (In Dover and Rochester). They are there inside the cruiser or (in the summer time) AT the toll-both with the radar gun.

2) In the middle of the roads, they hide in the turn-arounds for authorized vehicles only. There are 4 of these turn-arounds and usually people slow down when getting close to them, OR if someone is a couple car lenghts in front of you, your RD might catch the signal, so you make sure they are there.

3) Hidden in the side of the roads (going North or South), where you see lots of trees, specially between Dover Tolls and Exit 7 and between exits 9 and Rochester Tolls.

4) When you just passed one of the turn-arounds between roads and start (keep on) speeding, if they are driving in the opposite way with their radar on, they more than likely will turn around and come after you.

5) Heading down south, right after exit 9’s ramp, they are going to be on the shoulder, in your right inside just waiting for you.

I-95 North (right after Exit 3)

Portsmouth, New HampshireJan 01, 20000 Comments

heading I-95 North, right at Exit 3, the speed limit is reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph (WHY?). 1/2 mile passed that, state troopers usually stop in the middle of the lanes. If you don’t pay attention to slow down (don’t forget to turn off the cruise control) to 62-64 mph you’re caught.
