Egg Harbor City, New Jersey Speed Traps

Have spotted them posted up waiting in the Strike Zone Bowling Alley parking lot after the Dollar General heading East on Rt 30. Speed limits are underposted and willy-nilly all along this stretch of road.. local adult bookstore parking lot a couple blocks away includes a giant “SLOW DOWN” sign, so you know the townsfolk have been brainwashed into believing $lower is $afer..

This is coming in and out of downtown Egg Harbor City. The speed limit on Philadelphia Ave. North of Duerer St. is 50 MPH, between Duerer St. and Claudius St. it’s 35 MPH, and south of Claudius St. it’s 25 MPH. The EHC PD loves to sit all over the place on either side of Philadelphia Ave. between both intersections.

If you are going south, make sure you slow down to 35 MPH (from 50 MPH) before reaching Duerer St. and if you are going north, don’t go more than 40 MPH prior to Duerer St.

One minute the speed limit is 50 mph, to 45 mph to go 1/4 mile to enter 35 mph..its absolutly ridiculous..and they get you every time

The posted speed limit passing through Egg Harbor City goes from 55 to 35. Just as you are about a 1/4 mile into the city, there is a cop sitting in an empty lot on the west bound side with his radar gun pointed straight at you.

Traveling toward Atlantic City, prior to entering Egg Harbor, Route 30 has a stretch that is 55 mph. Therefore, when you are at the end of that higher speed area, the police wait for you to enter into the 45 mph, where it changes to 35 mph within a few hundred yards and even though you are slowing down, the amount of time that you have is limited. Therefore, be aware, so you can get to the proper speed prior to entering this area. The municipal court is enough punishment for getting a ticket. At least 4 hours of sitting in court, if you are lucky.
