Palisades Park has their own autonomous police force. They lurk at Exits 2 and 3 and feast on drivers. Speed limit is 50 MPH. If you go 55MPH you are doomed. No one gets one ticket but three or four. When you pull over to the disabled car lane at the officer’s direction, you also get a ticket for crossing the solid white line that separates the parkway lanes from the disabled car lanes or for failing to signal your change of lane or for driving in the left lane. A typical court calendar has the names of 35-40 motorists but the calendar runs 4-5 pages because everyone has multiple violations.

They like to hide out behind the CNBC sign at the pullover just before 800 Sylvan Ave (Unilever) especially at night, where, when you go downhill at that point and tend to speed, you will barely see them in time, since they sit and wait in the dark. And then those lights getcha! ALSO be aware, the Cliffies like to work in teams – and often two cars will pull you over and intimidate you.

Seen Englewood Cliffs cops sit and wait in the DPW lot with car parallel to Hudson Terrace across from road to St. Peter’s College. Also seen them at lot at the firehouse on 9W and all around the strech of 9W from the boarder of Fort Lee. Also seen them writing tickets for cars parked in handicapped spots at the post office parking lot on more than a few occasions.

Approx. 1/8 of a mile past clinton ave intersection , building behind sign that says entering boro of englewood cliffs .you could drive by at 25 mph and look real hard and never see them.
