Police sit in this spot off and on all day long. They also drive from East to West along Madison Ave from Drew University towards Giralda Farms in a big loop with the Radar turned on the whole time.

Green Avenue near Woodland Road

Police will sit on either side of Green Ave, 50 Fort north of Woodland Road. From here they will catch anyone coming up Grren Ave. (Southbound) as they go over the rise. The speed limit is 25; slow down to 40 before cresting the hill.

Sometimes the police will watch the other direction too.

Sometimes a speedgun or instant-on is used. As noted, the police are very aggressive. This has been a favorite radar spot for decades.

Greenwood Road

Crossing over Route 24 into and out of Madison. Everyone exceeds the posted 25 mph limit as they head over the highway, especially since there is a hill on either side. The police sit parked at the side of the road, facing in the opposite direction, so you think you’re safe until they make a flying u-turn with lights and sirens blaring in this residential area. The stop takes a very long time as they try out their new computer system in the car and they will get you for anything over 25 although they favor whatever generates the maximum number of points (for which New Jersey will charge you a surcharge of $100 each year for several years after you receive the ticket). Sometimes they have two police cars working at once — there isn’t much else for them to do in Madison.
