Marlboro, New Jersey Speed Traps

When you turn from Rte 34 to Lloyds Rd there is No Turn on Red sign. Occasionally, when you start to turn, the 4 sec yellow light is on but you end the turn on red and cop hides at the bank parking lot. Unfair and arbitrary ticket but cops must meet their quota! At the crossing of 520 & Wyncrest, drivers frequently end the turn on the red light as there is no arrow and they can get accross until the end. So far, no tickets there for the same thing. Be aware!

The speed limit is 25 MPH and the police are often there. I was stopped with radar and I’ve also seen them at both ends of the road.

As you make the turn onto Schoolhouse Road West from Route 79 north, which will be the first light after leaving Route 18 north, there will be an unmarked Police vehicle (a dark colored Buick) waiting for you. He got me.

This past winter I noticed a police vehicle parked several times in the lot of the farmstand on the westbound side that is closed for the season. There’s a WAWA in the shopping center across the street. If you’re travelling eastbound on 520 approaching 79 you’ll be going downhill as you approach the intersection. Don’t try to beat the light, by the time you see the police car it’ll be too late.

I haven’t seen a cop here yet but the road seems almost designed deliberately for speed trap purposes. It is the exit for Rt 520 fron Highway 18 southbound. slow down as the hiding spot will be immediately on your left as the curve ends, too late for you to adjust if you do see a cop there.
