Mendham, New Jersey Speed Traps

Police car sits facing Chester at the crest of slight hill in front of pharmacy waiting for eastbound cars trying to make the light. You cannot see the car until after you’ve reached the crest. Police also sit on the Chester side of the light in the municipal parking lot waiting for those westbound cars coming over the crest. This second spot at the same intersection serves double duty because they face a pub/restaurant where they watch people come out to their cars and follow them for DUI

After making the right turn bend going towards Chester NJ the Mendham cops will either wait in the “older” fire house drive way or a little further down 24. Usually if they are desperate for some attention they will either wait on Roxiticus road hidden waiting for you to pass them on 24.

They park in peoples driveways with radar. Also they tailgate and intimidate you and then pull you over.

Mendham cops are notorious for harrassing motorists for no reason, especially teens. Will follow them into home driveway. Will give tickets for going a few miles over the limit and will tailgate a few feet from your car to intimmidate. Cops actually run the court system. They will also shut down Rt 24 at rush hour for minor repairs that could be done at a different time thus requiring a LONG detour while on way to or home from work. This has to stop.

Police cars are parked on the side streets, or Kings parking lot waiting for people to go by. Speed limit is 30 miles an hour. They profile high school students in particular and stop them for no reason. They will perform car searches and ticket for made up violations. Very hard to go through that area of main street without seeing a car pulled over at all hours of the morning or evening.
