Mine Hill, New Jersey Speed Traps
During times when school session starts and ends. Patrol car seen sitting in driveway area, hard to notice with so many parent cars. I entered zone a bit fast and patrol car pulled out to follow me, but I had slowed to required speed and car reentered drive area.
Randolph Avenue has long downhills on both sides approaching the Jackson Brook Trail entrance to Hedden Park. The speed limit is 40.The trail has a dirt parking lot shielded by bushes on either side. It is on the border between Randolph and Mine Hill– Randolph, Mine Hill, and Morris County Park Police all sit in there and wait for cars coming down the hill in either direction.
Speed limit drops from 45 to 40, traffic consistently moves at 50-55 on this 4-lane road. Radar is set up a few hundred feet past the "40 MPH" sign in the parking lot of a local business on the west bound side.
