Montville, New Jersey Speed Traps

Montville police ticketed on Kinnelon side of Boonton Ave. Claimed 55 in 40 zone, though there is no 40 mi speed limit. Only 45 and 35 (and these differ depending on direction). Kinnelon police usually stay closer to Brook Valley Rd. on Kinnelon side of Boonton Ave.

Police have an "emergency use only" u-turn ramp that goes above the interstate. They establish traps on both the north and south bound lanes just north of the overpass. The overpass is located between mile markers 48 and 49.

The police are hidden all along Changebridge. The locals never speed.

APRIL 2004 Montville twp. have added laser-equipped motorcycles to their arsenal. They are on side roads and on rt 46 running radar and monitoring red lights. Watch out

Cop hangs out on the right side of the highway around exit 47 in Montville to earn money for the government. The speed limit here is 65 but during ideal driving conditions normal traffic flow is around 80. Especially because this is a nice road, it is easy to go fast in it. My brother was ticketed for doing 83 in a 65(which hardly anybody goes when the driving conditions are ideal), although he was probally going with or close to traffic, I personally think that in ideal driving conditions you can go 80 in a 65 safely. But if you get caught speeding then you’ll be paying a nice fine like my brother ended up paying, $173, cause he’s from CT,and i bet cops love to ticket out of staters too, i wonder what the cutoff is for the state police, this includes for out of staters too, can anybody let me know what the cutoff is?
