Oakland, New Jersey Speed Traps

Off the side of 202, you can’t see it until you are right on top of it.

Local (Oakland Borough) cops camp out under and on the ramp from Rt 208 to I 287 South. This is where 287 becomes three lanes so people have a tendency to accellerate into the newly opened space in heavy traffic. Speed limit is 65 here. keep it below 75 and do not be tempted to shoot left at 80+.

Local PD will do radar in both directions and will sit anywhere between Minnehaha Blvd and Franklin Ave. This is a residential area with no sidewalks and lots of children. its real easy to do 35-40 on this street. Needless to say the pd does not give warnings in this area and you will get a ticket for anything over the posted 25 MPH.

The PD will sit in the driveway of the Firehouse and get you as you come down the hill (towards RTE 202 AKA Ramapo Valley Road)This is a posted 35 MPH, but 25 MPH during school hours. This is the main road leading to the high school. Its a nice hill coming down and real easy to get to 45 MPH without touching the gas. During school hours there are no breaks for anything over 25 MPH.

Police car sits at the end of the new bridge and wide road way. It is almost impossible to do the 25 mph limit.
