Route 1, just before College Road exit ramp

Plainsboro, New JerseyMay 08, 20120 Comments

Plainsboro PD frequently has a patrol car set up behind the ‘Marriott’ sign on Route 1 North, just before the College Road exit ramp. The car is EXTREMELY well hidden, usually angled so that motorists cannot see it until it’s basically too late (less than 100 feet away.) The flow of traffic in this area is usually 63-70mph, but if you go above that (and, especially, if you have out of state license plates), you run the risk of getting pulled over. Since the car is so well hidden, this spot is used for both daytime and night enforcement.

Scudders Mill Rd. in Business area

Seen cops on the median once or twice. Limit 50 but somewhat reasonable, didn’t slow down from about 55 and he obviously ignored me. However, during rush hour, sometimes people go 60-70 and this is likely their focus.

Limit is only 40 but most don’t realize it. Changes to 50 soon after. 40 is too low since the road is very open. Only seen cops here once but I assume they frequent it more often since it is easy pickings.

Scudders Mill Road after Bridge going into Plainsboro

Seen many people pulled over here (also the other way turning onto Shalks Crossing rd.) for right turns on the shoulder, rolling through right turn on red, likely speeding, running the red light etc. Pretty common so I am assuming heavy enforcement. Limit is 50 but is thankfully not too low, though it is easy to do a bit more if you blow the yellow light which is tricky.

Cranbury Neck Rd. heading towards George Davidson Rd

Plainsboro, New JerseyJul 08, 20100 Comments

Going towards Stults farm/Nostrand rd., there is a gravel patch with a little shed where cops like to park their cars. However, the limit is fairly reasonable (50 on a relatively thin semi-rural road) so there is not much speeding. I suspect however that the police like to catch kids leaving from the local high school, since many likely even exceed this limit by awhile. Never seen them with someone pulled over, but they are DEFINITELY there some of the time. Unless you are driving REALLY fast though, you should be okay.
