Ringwood, New Jersey Speed Traps
Greenwood Lake Turnpike (511) and Westbrook Road
Gordon’s Deli at the intersection, gets a great deal of visits from the Ringwood Police, which leaves them a perfect spot to check speed on passersby entering Ringwood – just north of the Lakeside Diner on the east side by the Westbrook Road intersection. Mainly there in the a.m. and late nights when the Deli is closed.
Carletondale Road
The police sit in the parking lot at the Ringwood Christian school … back far enough that they cant be seen from the road. Cars coming down Carletondale from Cupsaw plaza are going down hill and generally exceed the speed limit. I’ve seen MANY motorists get pulled over there …
County Trunk 511 or GREENWOOD LAKE TRNPK. near STONETOWN Road
The police set-up in two locations along this strip of roadway. The first is just past stonetown rd. (DAM) on the right side going towards Skyline Drive (about 200 feet past Stonetown rd.) there appears to be a service driveway for the Dam.
The second spot is a bit further down route 511 on the left behind a hill. You’ll pass the first opening where the tree company leaves their vehicles and about another 100 feet there’s a small opening/driveway on gravel. At this spot they can get you coming either way.
This stretch of road is a strait away. The posted speed limit is 45 mph. The roadway leading to this strecth of road initially is 55 mph then goes to 45 mph. They enforce this area Stricly.
West brook Road near Snake den Road
As you drive down a hill before the West brook Rd. / Snake den Rd. intersection, the police officer sits directly across from Snake den road behind a set of outstretched tree limbs. This make the police car or motorcycle invisible to the motorist. The gravity of the hill brings drivers over the 35 mph speed limit unless you are aware and ride the brakes. Many motorists have been issued summonses at this speed trap, due to the camouflage, and the incline of the hill before the intersection.
