Unmarked cars patrol left lane on Rt. 72 in heavy traffic, then ticket you for staying in the left lane. Be careful. They entrapped me by tailgaiting me in the left lane. When I pulled to the right lane, they stayed on my tail. I pulled into the left lane again to try to shake the tailgater and got the ticket.
When your going over the Causway Bridge towards LBI, Stafford PD hides in the middle behind the Pine trees at the foot of the bridge. They are targeting east & west bounders.
Traveling east bound on RT. 72 as you come over the bridge’s crest motorist gain speed on the long downward slope. Motorists become preoccupied by the spectacular panoramic views of Barnegat Bay to the left, Manahawkin Bay to the right and the Atlantic Ocean dead ahead. Many motorists fall prey to the classic cop behind the bushes routine. Only the most observant drivers see this welcoming setup!
Stafford Twp. PD frequently monitor traffic and speed from the median. They particularly enjoy pulling over beach goers headed for LBI.
Between mile 64 and the exit for 63- LBI on the left there is a paved spot as the road curves to the leFort They sit and just pick people off. You won’t see them until it’s too late. Once you see the small sign on the right that says, "Stafford Township, use exit 63" hit the brakes or that’s the last thing you’ll see before you get pulled over.
