Isleta Pueblo, New Mexico Speed Traps

Speed is reduced to 35 at the overpass which was previously 45 for many years before road improvement when it was posted at 35 due to construction. The speed limit has remained at 35 until you have driven several thousand feed in a non-business or residential area down the hill from the overpass. The pueblo police patrol this continuously as they can hide south of the overpass and drivers will find it hard to maintain 35 with out braking. There are no business or residences within 500 ft of the road in this area. Speed limit by traffic engineering should be 45 or higher as this is a State Highway and is posted 55 else where. Beware heavy police presence.
